The Goal
Our goal was to get new clients for our services. Below is a step by step guide on how we spent just $5 to get 3 (& more to come) paying clients.
Please remember that the goal of your social media advert is not to make a sale directly on social media (except in certain cases). Your goal is to show how your product or service can solve a particular problem that your customers may have, then gain their trust. You can use my approach below.
The Landing Page
We created a dedicated landing page on our website strictly for this ad using Vertical Response (a free marketing tool). A landing page ensures that your content is super relevant to the ad, this increases your chances of getting more serious clients. If you don’t have a website yet, I highly recommend you get one, especially if you are looking for business clients.
Tip: You can create a beautiful website in 30 minutes using Wix. It’s easy and cheap.
PS: If you are reading this with a mobile phone, please zoom in the images to see it clearly.
The Title — The title was the same as the caption of the advert which made it very relevant and it was simple to understand.

The Body; I introduced myself and stated exactly how I can help them get more customers online. Straight to the point.

One Call to Action — I added one call to action telling visitors exactly what to do and what to expect. This is very important

The Instagram Ad
Creating a compelling social media ad is as important as the landing page, I wrote a separate article on how to create captivating social media ads, you can read that later, so I won’t bore you with the details.
The Advert Preview— we used a catchy image because Instagram (like other social media platforms) is image-centric. If you want people to click on your ads, you have to get their attention using a lovely image. You can get images on www.pixabay.com for free, no copyright issues.
See screenshot of the Instagram ad we used. We tested two images, this performed better after 5 hours.

Our Engagement — 6,145 people saw our advert, 53 people clicked on it, our cost for one click was $0.1(one cent) and our ad relevance was an impressive 9/10 (this means that our advert was targeted at the right people) and we spent just $5.38 as shown below.

In a separate campaign, we are currently paying only $0.03 per visitor. That’s by the way.

Our Vertical Response Dashboard — 53 people (from Instagram) visited our landing page, 17 people submitted their email address, that’s a conversation of about 32%(which is great, but can be better). See below;

Auto-Email — We sent an email to our visitors immediately they dropped their email address. This is one of the many awesome features Vertical Response has. You can literally be asleep and run your campaigns on autopilot. We had an open rate of a whopping 88.24% open rate. See screenshot.

The Email We Sent — We sent the personalized email below to our prospective clients. (first name in place of friend).

Overall Result
Finally, out of the 17 prospective Clients, we are presently working with 3. You can use this same approach to get clients for your business(es). It works! Just let your potential customers know that you can help them solve a particular problem.
